Hello, dear reader!
I'm Adriane Brown, author of The Café on Dream Street. I'm so glad you're interested in my book, a novel that focuses on the social and political dynamics within families and in the communities in which they live.
Many families in the United States are facing issues involving our current immigration system, and may find themselves under attack by members of the community they have lived in and worked with for years. Supporters of the immigrants in these communities may also find themselves under attack- by the people closest to them, as well as friends and other members of the community.
In sharing this novel with the world, I hope to increase empathy and understanding toward the immigrants in our communities and add important elements to the dialogue currently raging within the dominant culture.
This is a work of fiction. Names, characters, places, and incidents are the product of my imagination or are used fictitiously, and any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, businesses, companies events or locales is entirely coincidental. Oakmont, New York, is a fictional suburb, not meant to represent any actual locale or its inhabitants.
